What the tale is about
On a windy morning, the narrator boards a ferry from Üsküdar, while an elderly lady chats happily with friends. When a powerful southwesterly wind makes the ferry creak, sway, and seem almost ready to sink, she cries out to Allah, then quickly returns to gossip once the danger passes. Thinking about her response, the narrator compares Allah’s names with Mahir’s names as gardener, carpenter, cook, and painter.
