What the tale is about
After a baby is separated from the Oghuz people during a nighttime attack, a mother lion raises him in the forest, and Dede Korkut names him Basat. Back among his people, Basat learns to live with them, while a mysterious, one-eyed baby named Tepegöz grows into a dangerous giant who threatens children and animals. Protected by a magic ring, Tepegöz seems impossible to defeat. Brave Basat travels to the mountains, studies the monster, finds his vulnerable point, and saves the Oghuz people through courage, determination, and clever thinking.
