What the tale is about

Ali Gel and his talkative bird, Kuş, discover that a giant refrigerator box can carry them into the worlds of books. While reading about cocoa in an encyclopedia, they travel to a hot, dense forest in Ivory Coast and meet Abijan, a child who works with his family in the cocoa fields. Abijan has never tasted chocolate, even though cocoa from the fields helps make it. Ali returns home troubled by this injustice and decides to remember and speak about the children he met. Kuş’s sheepish confession about the last piece of chocolate brings a playful close to their thoughtful adventure.
