What the tale is about
In seven-hilled Istanbul, kind-hearted Hezarfen discovers a gloomy turtle who longs to fly like the joyful seagulls above the sea. Lettuce, water, a storybook, and hide-and-seek cannot lift the turtle’s spirits, so Hezarfen observes the birds, studies their flight, and works out a plan. With feathers from the Sleep King’s pillows, he builds wings and promises to fly alongside his friend. Their flight brings the turtle great happiness and connects the playful adventure with the real Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi, curiosity, perseverance, the joy of friendship, and a closing prayer about Allah’s name Al-Fattah.
