What the tale is about
Keloğlan goes fishing with his friend Mahmut and the dog Karabaş, but the village stream has little water and no fish. Determined to discover what happened, he follows the stream to its source inside a mountain cave. There, the stream’s dwarf guardian explains that cutting down trees, bushes, and plants has left the water lonely and dry. Keloğlan returns home with a promise to help, and the villagers join him in planting saplings and protecting the streambank. With their care and hard work, the greenery returns, the stream grows strong, and the fish come back.
