What the tale is about
Keloğlan lives with his mother in a happy, fruitful village where everyone prepares carefully for the harsh winter. One sweltering summer day, however, he would rather rest in the cool stone house than feed the chickens, chop firewood, or water the garden. His mother reminds him that food and warmth require effort, but Keloğlan chooses to sleep a little longer. A vivid dream of a freezing, food-scarce winter helps him understand the cost of delaying his work. After waking, he gladly cares for the animals, garden, and firewood, discovering that timely work brings happiness.
