What the tale is about

When spring arrives, curious little Kukumal moves her nest to a mulberry tree and notices the blackberries and dried mulberries stored in Dove’s hollow. Feeling that Dove has more than enough, Kukumal enters without permission and takes some food several times. Blackberry stains reveal what happened, and Kukumal feels ashamed. She admits her mistake, replaces everything she took, and gathers Dove’s favorite acorns as a thoughtful gift. Dove forgives her while reminding her that permission must come first. Together, the friends discover the value of sharing and making amends.
